START BOX is a small architectural practice that was created by Laura Parker out of a growing need for everyday interior and architectural advice, and opportunities that developed from people seeking to explore efficient and effective design outcomes. 

Laura has over a decade of industry experience as both an Architect and Project Manager, with smaller projects (renovations and bespoke residential) being her main passion in her career. She has worked in both small and large practices in Brisbane and South Korea, and sees great value in providing undivided focus in prioritising projects. By aligning our capacity to only a small number of projects at a time, your project receives the attention it deserves.

From napkin sketches to full construction documentation sets, each of our endeavours to date have been to enhance the daily narrative of lives, and capture the best aspects of a space, site, or existing elements.

START BOX offers many different design packages that fill the role of different documentation requirements. START BOX is all about the small but mighty projects, from revitalising some batrhooms or kitchen joinery, to a full new build. Some initial questions we might ask include your project's location, vision, preferred budget, and timing. 

After some early over the phone discussions, we'll reach out to schedule an initial meeting.

The use of the title ‘architect' is protected by law. Only people registered legally are allowed to use the title. Architects are subject to the BOAQ Architects Code of Professional Conduct governing their service to clients. Architects maintain professional indemnity insurance and each year must undertake professional education appropriate to the services they provide.
